This is designed to explain to you how to draw energy into yourself and the moral ways to do so.
First off, energy is in everything and is the building block of all existence. Without energy nothing would exist. Energy can be call Psi, Ki, Chi, Kundalini and so forth - each type can be associated with different purposes, but they all stem from a base energy which is simply known as ‘energy’.
Some Starting Points:
Both of the following require the ability to visualise in the mind – to have a waking dream you control in effect.
Grounding:
This is quite literally to root yourself in there here and now and achieve a basic peace of mind ready to begin energy work. The simplest method I am aware of is to imagine roots growing out from your feet into the ground, growing down further and further until they reach the core of the planet. Start to draw up through these roots, feel the warmth and stability, protection and peace that the Erath possesses you may feel a new strength and stability in your feet. Spread this throughout your whole being.
Centering:
This is a fusion of two methods I have learnt and should work well for the majority of people. Credit goes to my friend and old RE teacher.
Close your eyes and picture the colour blue in front of your eyes.
In the center of that, you see a dot of red which grows till you see only red and then you see a dot of yellow that grows until it is all you see. You are then transported to a world like our own. You are standing in front of a beautiful lake and can see fish in the lake. Each fish represents one of your thoughts. Watch the fish move and as you do so see the irrelevance each thought holds...watch the fish disappear as you sort through each worry and send them to irrelevance. When you are ready, open your eyes and begin gathering energy.
Gathering Methods:
1. Gathering from the imagination through visualisation:
This is a basic method that is considered the simplest for all people who can 'picture' things in their heads. All you need to do is calm your mind through meditation or the calming centering exercise included at the beginning of this article, then you must see a place of natural beauty in your mind. It can be a forest, a park full of flowers, a great waterfall and so on. Around any major living object you see a coloured auraic field, a sort of thick outline in colour (see aura image below).
This colour is the energy of that object. You must see yourself place your hands on the object and imagine that energy entering your body through every pore in contact with it. You must imagine you can feel it, imagine it going through your arms to all of your body. Do this for as long as you wish but you may become full eventually and need to stop. This energy has many uses that myself and other will cover in other guides.

2. Drawing from plants and trees:
The imaginary way is the easiest to some, yet the least filling in terms of gathering energy for a purpose. This method involves drawing from a real-life, living object, and this is far more affluent energy.
To start simply go up to a tree or plant (tree preferably), and place your hands on it. Then, as in method 1, feel the energy leave the plant and go into your body. Open you mind to this energy and feel it go into your body... a magnetic pull to you if you want. If you just place your hands on the tree then nothing will happen, you have to feel the process taking place for it to do so.
If you find yourself rather good at this then be careful not to kill the plant by taking too much energy.
3. Drawing from an inanimate object:
This is considered the next level up from drawing from plants/imagination and is considerably different in terms of how it feels. Energy exists in everything but is far more potent and refreshing from living sources, however, there are moral issues I have yet to discuss on drawing from the living.
Use the same method as above but expect the feel of energy to be different and there to be a considerably harder effort to get the energy. Making the link to get it will not be as easy as it may be for the other methods. Regardless, energy drawn from inanimate objects is just as useful as that of any other source, you will just have to work a little harder.
4. Crystal drawing:
Crystals are a good source of energy that offer rather beneficial rewards if you draw from them - these generally refer to different aspects of health or psionic ability.
Crystal drawing is a relatively complex method in the fact that they need recharging and cleansing, something I'm not going into here. I suggest buying a book to learn about the ins and outs of this system, it is one of the best for those looking into healing via metaphysical means.
5. No need to draw anymore, just recharge:
Each person has their own amount of flexible energy provided to them in life. This can be their only source for any action they do and is my person method. It is the hardest and last method I will list here, and there is no superior method known to this date.
All you need to do is learn how to use some of the above methods and eventually you will find that the energy you have always had is all you need... Recharging it is done through sleep, eating chocolate, drinking milk, meditating and similar activities. This is the hardest method to comment on as it is really what you make it. You will find your personal supply is easily exhausted at first but as you develop it will expand and it will be able to supply you for most of the applications without any problems.
Morality in drawing:
Many people consider drawing from people highly immoral or dangerous; therefore I have not listed it. The same applies to plants but at a lesser level, so try to move off that stage as quickly as possible. If you persist in drawing from living organisms then you risk causing the target harm. Drawing in small quantities from large plants or simultaneously from many smaller plants is fulfilling and causes no problems to my knowledge.
